Villa Lemoni, Lefkada - What our guests say...
Planning our first trip to Greece we wanted to experience culture without the relentless commercialization. 
We wanted to recharge our batteries with scenic views, fresh foods and genuinely friendly people. And finally we wanted to experience self guided adventures. It was a demanding agenda, but we found it all at Villa Lemoni in Lefkada.
We flew into Athens and rented a jeep to take advantage of the open air and anticipated mountain exploring roads. After a 4 hour scenic and relaxing drive from Athens (some adjustments to local driving style, but in no way intimidating) we arrived in Lefkada. We were guided through the main town to the east coast roadway on our way to the villa.
Villa Lemoni was perched on the mountainside and the adventures began immediately as we drove up
a rustic gravel and dirt road lined with stone walls and olive trees. We crossed the electric gate that protects the villa's fruiting trees from the hungry neighboring goats. Our accommodations were nothing short of luxurious.
An entire home with full amenities served as the perfect home base for exploring the island. The washer/dryer allowed us to pack light and start every day fresh and clean. With a full kitchen we were able to make quick meals or throw together snacks for the road using fresh produce and goods from the many local markets that are a throw back to the days before mega-stores. Of course for dining there are also numerous restaurants nearby to sit back and experience a variety of cuisines served by multigenerational proud Lefkada residents that go beyond expectation to make your experience perfect.
The Villa Lemoni rooms have satellite fed flat screen TV's to catch up on world news
or put on some background music. The master bedroom occupies the second floor with a balcony providing a sunrise view of mountains and island spotted sea. The first floor also houses two full bedrooms and doorways to a main recreation patio. The patio has plenty of space for dining and sun bathing by the Hollywood Hills style sheared decent mountainside pool. We could have spent every hour of our trip at Villa Lemoni, but the island has plenty to be discovered.
Like a perfect vacation, the time flew by and we have been dreaming of returning to Villa Lemoni ever since.
